Typical applications:

For multi-pin connectors. The protector strips are pushed about a third of the way onto the pins.
This protects the pins from mechanical damage during handling and processing. Also used to
guide the connectors to the pins in automatic assembly operations. Positioning aid for fixing
multi-pin connectors to PCB boards
