Perforated Panel

The Hae Kwang perforated panel provides all the features and available options of the Hae Kwang solid panel with the addition of 1,296 or 1024 chamfered holes to provide a nominal 18~22% open area in a no directional pattern for air flow requirements in both computer rooms and cleanrooms. Completely interchangeable with solid, perforated panels and grates.

Advantages
  • Existing solid panels can be used for the manufacturing of ventilation panles
  • Manufactured with the highest precision and accuracy
  • Class A1 building materials (incombustible)
  • High load-bearing capacity with low deflection
  • Easy to use material for later cut-outs
  • Long life cycle for economical usage
  • Excellent electrostatic discharge
  • Accuracy drilling holes with chamfered edges
Select perforated panel quantity-Example
  • Data given
  • Area: 600m³, Class:100, FFU quantity:50%

  • Question
  • How many perforated panels are required?

  • Answer

  • -CMH of FFU (Fan Filter Unit):
    1.2m x 0.6m x 2m/s x 3,600=907.2M³/hr

-CMH of Perforated panel (Open Ratio:18%):
    0.6m x 0.6m x 2m/s x 3,600 x 0.18=466.56M³/hr
    (0.6m x 0.6m = Area of panel, 2 m/s = Velocity of ventilation)

    -Quantity of FFU:
    600 / 0.72=834(set) x 0.5=417(set)

    -CMH of total area:907.2 x 417=378,302M³/hr

    -Quantity of perforated panels:
    378,302 / 466.56=810(ea)

Air Flow Characteristics

Designed to provide increased, smooth flow of air from the ceiling through raised flooring with an absolute minimum of turbulence
Standard
A standard hole in perforated panel enables smooth air flow through the flooring
Chamfered
The smooth air flow through a chamfered hole is increased in comparison to a standard hole. This is assisted through a reduction of turbulence at the floor surface.

Differential Pressure vs. Flow Rates

Test procedure:
  • The panels were installed in a purpose built air flow chamber built for this purpose.
  • The panel was then subjected to a range of differential air pressure from 0.005 to 0.10 inches of water
  • The corresponding volumetric air flow through the panel was measured
  • The tests were performed according to Stork Twin City Testing Standard Operating Procedure NPT-Floor-01
